John W. Madigan

Retired Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Tribune Company

Mr. Madigan joined Gilead's Board of Directors in 2005. He is the retired Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Tribune Company and a director of the Robert R. McCormick Foundation and Boise Cascade.

Mr. Madigan is also a former member of the Defense Business Board of the Department of Defense and is an advisor to Madison Dearborn Partners. He serves as a trustee of Northwestern University, Rush University Medical Center, The Chicago Counsel on Global Affairs and the Paley Center for Media in New York.
