Gordon E. Moore, PhD

Retired Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Intel Corporation

Dr. Moore joined Gilead's Board of Directors in 1996, after serving as a member of the company's Business Advisory Board from 1991 until 1996. Prior to joining Gilead's board, Dr. Moore co-founded Intel Corporation and served as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer.

Dr. Moore is a former Chairman and present Senior Trustee of the California Institute of Technology, a member of the National Academy of Engineering and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Engineering (UK). He is the recipient of the National Medal of Technology and the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the United States' highest civilian honor.
