Per Wold-Olsen

Retired President, Human Health Intercontinental Division, Merck & Co., Inc.

Mr. Wold-Olsen joined Gilead’s Board of Directors in 2010, after serving as the Chair of the company’s Health Policy Advisory Board since 2007. From 2005 to 2006, Mr. Wold-Olsen served as President of the Human Health Intercontinental Division of Merck & Co., Inc., a leading global pharmaceutical company. From 1997 until 2005, he served as President of Human Health Europe, Middle East/Africa and Worldwide Human Health Marketing for Merck.

Mr. Wold-Olsen is currently Chairman of the Board of Lundbeck A/S, a pharmaceutical company focused in the field of central nervous system diseases and disorders. He is also Chairman of the Board of GN Store Nord A/S, a leading Danish-based company that develops and commercializes hearing aids and headsets. Mr. Wold-Olsen also serves on the Board of Directors of Exiqon A/S.

Mr. Wold-Olsen is a member of the Board of the Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV), a non-profit initiative dedicated to the discovery, development and delivery of new medicines for the treatment of malaria.
