Ms. Watson leads the company’s worldwide Human Resources organization. She is responsible for attracting, developing and retaining talent, and delivering a strategic approach to engaging the company’s employees to foster a culture that builds on its core values of inclusion, teamwork, excellence, accountability and integrity. She also oversees leadership, talent development and succession as well as people analytics, which provide real-time insight about the company’s global workforce.

She joined Gilead in February 2003, when the company had just 1,000 employees, and during her tenure has helped support significant organizational growth in California and around the world. Prior to her current role, Ms. Watson held a number of positions in the HR organization, including leading the company’s compensation, benefits, systems and learning and development groups. Before joining Gilead, Ms. Watson worked at Applera Corp.’s Applied Biosystems, led the HR consulting practice for TriNet, and served as an HR business partner at D.E. Shaw & Co.

Ms. Watson holds a degree in psychology from the University of California at San Diego and a master's in organizational psychology from Columbia University.
