Gilead Purchases Foster City Campus

FOSTER CITY, Calif., Sep 15, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Gilead Sciences, Inc. (Nasdaq:GILD) today announced that the company has completed the purchase of its Foster City, California campus from a subsidiary of Equity Office Properties Trust (NYSE:EOP) for approximately $123 million. The company announced it had entered into an agreement to purchase the facility in August 2003.

Under the terms of this agreement, Gilead has acquired 16 buildings, totaling 496,000 square feet of office and laboratory space, on Lakeside Drive in Foster City, California. Gilead currently occupies eight of the 16 buildings acquired in the purchase transaction. Gilead expects this transaction will be accretive to earnings in 2003.
