Keeley Cain Wettan is Executive Vice President and General Counsel at Gilead. In this role, Keeley provides legal counsel to the Board of Directors and senior leadership, oversees all Legal and Compliance functions and manages the Corporate Responsibility team. Additionally, Keeley serves as Chair and Secretary of the Gilead Foundation.
Since joining Gilead in 2011, Keeley has held numerous leadership positions that have shaped the company’s legal and compliance strategy. She previously served as Senior Vice President, Global Legal Business Partners, where she led teams responsible for providing legal counsel across Gilead’s business units worldwide. In earlier roles, Keeley also directed Litigation & Investigations, handling complex legal disputes and government inquiries, as well as Corporate Governance & Strategic Transactions, where she played a pivotal role in mergers, acquisitions and other strategic business initiatives.
Her leadership continues to drive Gilead’s mission forward, ensuring that the company operates with the highest standards of ethics and responsibility while advancing groundbreaking therapies for patients around the world.
Keeley has been guided by a strong commitment to integrity, collaboration and innovation throughout her career. Prior to joining Gilead, she practiced law at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett where she advised corporate clients on general litigation, government investigations and legal strategy, gaining valuable experience that laid the foundation for her future leadership roles.
Keeley earned her Juris Doctor from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law.
